This pub is named after Queen Victoria's fourth daughter, Louise. It was built in 1872 and was refurbished in 1891. Ornate plaster work, beautiful cut and gilt mirrors and the finest decorated tiles are plentiful. It serves bar food and there is a restaurant. Catering for private parties of up to 100 guests (on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays) is available upon request.

unique, Victorian pub - Another very unique London local pub. An authentic Victorian gem, recommended for it's historical relevance in terms of the interiors and the structure of the bar.
First time I went in I was in awe of the the way the bar is set up, it is obvious that there is a historical significance to it's design. Along the bar are compartments that is each framed with wood and finely cut glass. A group of about 6 or so can comfortably hang out in each compartment. It seems as if these were the original 'VIP' rooms - for privacy at the bar.
Beautiful classic glass design and settings, lots of mirrors and wood.
It is now another Samuel Smith pub, so again, quality beer, organic wine, very fine pricing.
It is very unassuming walking by it, but that is the beauty of it - one never knows which pub they pass may be as interesting as this one is. This is another gem pub that is recommended for anyone interested in pub culture, local history, pub history, Victorian interiors, etc.
