Un Posed, Frank and Genuine - Again I am very surprised to be the first one to review Candid..and is like no other place I came across in London...it reminds me rather one of arty non-pretentious cafes in Cracow, where all furniture and decor seems to be coincedental and imrpovised rather than design with cold blood and premeditation. A mixture of clutter from the attic, some old photographs, paitings of unknown or forgotten masters, soft, plush armchair and massive wooden table for 12, candles + conversation and reading friendly music....

To get there you have to be careful on the steep staircase, climb up to the 2nd floor. But then you can look above the rooftops of Islington sipping drink of your choice.

Although I will never understand why drinks are ' with consumption only' Candid is still in my top 10.

The only thing that's missing is a cat jumping on your knees as the whole interior feels like grandma's living room.

Shame they close so early...
