Moro London Reviews

I'll be back on the Moro.... - Came here for a team lunch last week and was really impressed... I always wanted this place to be fab - after all their ex-chef now runs the kitchen at my wedding venue and the food there was lovely... And it was fab! We had a late lunch, but the staff were fab, so long as they'd taken our order they let us sit in the corner in peae even though all the other diners were gone and they were turning it around for the evening sitting. I had chorizo and chesnut soup -mmm, so hearty and warming. Then duck fattee - like a duck stew, with aubergines, pomegrante seeds, chickpeas, yoghurt, flat bread - was so so tasty! I couldn't manage a pud, but my colleagues assured me they were equally good. Will defintely be back for more-o :)

Evening Tapas - Moro is the place I love to roll into on a Friday evening and settle at the bar for an hour or two of tapas and drinks. For me it tastes like the start of the weekend.

The service is good and the atmosphere is buzzy and friendly.

I've eaten from the menu here a couple of times as well and it has been an excellent take on Spanish/North African cuisine.

Best chorizo in the world? - Best chorizo in the world

I live not far from Moro so it’s a regular haunt. This restaurant is doing a roaring trade – it’s full pretty much every night of the week.

The long zinc bar is my favourite which is great if you haven’t booked a table. You can just turn up, see if there’s any room and pull up a stool. It’s best if it’s just 2 or 3 of you as you are obviously seated in a row. The staffs behind the bar are generally friendly and helpful so first thing to do is order a glass of wine while looking at the main menu,

The wine is great and they have a good list from around Spain and beyond. Although I’m pretty familiar with the wines I’ll ask them what’s good for this or that occasion as the bar staff are knowledgeable . I had to send a bad glass back once (corked) after a recommendation but there was no fuss at all.

The bar tapas menu is excellent and full of classics though doesn’t change much. If you get there early the tortilla is still warm. This together with the char grilled chorizo are the best I’ve had anywhere. I think the chorizo comes from Brindisa next door.

Items on the main menu, which changes daily as far as I can tell, can also be ordered at the bar. The dishes are a mix of Spanish and North African. I’ve eaten some fantastic meals like Morcilla with fried potatoes and Ajo Blanco (almond and grape soup) there are sometimes more daring dishes like fried calf’s brains for the adventurous (not my favourite! Texture like herbed blancmange)

The ambience is relaxed. I’ve sat here a few times on my own waiting for friends to arrive and felt totally comfortable.
