Hallam Anderson Tours
London
Reviews
Convenient and Budget - I had a great time on an Anderson tour to Bath and Stonehenge with a visiting friend. The tour picks up at several locations in London, which made it easy to reach the closest pickup point in time for our early departure. The guide was quite knowledgeable, although if I had to have a criticism, a lot of her talk seemed rather canned, I'm sure she's done this tour a million times before. Still, she did entertain some fun discussion, including a debunking of the UFO theory of Stonehenge.
We had a comfy bus that drove us out to the west, and the ride was perfectly suitable - no bumps or scary braking. Once we reached the sights, I was a little disappointed that basically we were handed audio guides and sent on our way without the tour guide, but at least the price of the guides is built into the (low) price of the tour. At the price I paid, I do think I got my moneys worth, and we were back to London by about 8pm.
Anderson does some more ambitious tours, although to be frank I dunno if I would do more than bus tours with them. Still, for a cheap and satisfying tour group within England, I think this is a good option.
