Magdalen College was founded in 1458 by William of Waynflete who made a special request that the staff of chaplains and choristers should always remain. It is now famous for its choir, best known for the ancient ceremony which takes place on May Morning. Past members include Cardinal Wolsey, Oscar Wilde, C.S. Lewis and Dudley Moor.
