Christ Church College was founded in 1525 by Cardinal Wolsey. It was re-founded in 1546 by Henry VIII and renamed Christ Church. It is Oxford's largest college and it also incorporates England's smallest cathedral. Tom Tower, designed by Christopher Wren, contains the Great Tom bell that weighs over 7 tonnes. Each evening at five minutes past nine the bell rings 101 times, one peel for each member of the original college. There is also a picture gallery that displays a collection of paintings and drawings from the 14th to the 18th century.
