Today is going to be a good day. Three huggable cafes in the best city in the world. Find them in Soho (The little one with a big heart), Hoxton (the big loveable bear) and Angel (the pretty one with the small nose and big juicy red lips). Breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner in a world sunny side up.

The Breakfast Club London Reviews

Thank You Katie S! - Hi Katie

Thank you so much for taking the time to review us-what customers think is most important so hearing feedback-good or bad-helps us improve and know what we are doing right.

It can be a little mental at weekends, so thanks for persevering to get a table, and glad you had a good breakfast!

See you again very soon

Be prepared...! - I often walked past this place and wondered what all the fuss was about. There are infamous queues at weekends with people showing no resistance and battling up the narrow steps to wait for a table. I finally braved it on a bank holiday Monday figuring the wait would be shorter, and it was. We still waited for 20 minutes but once inside, the food and drinks came quickly and it was most certainly worth the wait! The food is fantastic and filing, so you get value for money. The atmosphere is great and it seems there are queues for a reason.

If you can be bothered to queue at weekends without feeling annoyed, then you'll enjoy this place. If you're a little impatient then give it a miss because you'll be in a foul mood by the time you get in, and wish you'd gone to Giraffe. Otherwise, it seems like the perfect place for a weekday lunch, or even a late bite. Enjoy!

Beyond average - Its not just that the food is boring, the coffee poor and the service mediocre at best - it's that it has this completely undeserved reputation for being good with stupidly long queues reinforcing this every weekend. When really honestly good places are on the same street - Macondo & The Elk in the Woods it really makes me wonder...don't even get me started. The only redeeming feature is the natural light from the massive ceiling.

Almost Worth the Wait - A few tips to make your experience at the Breakfast Club more enjoyable:
1) Arrive early before the queues of vintage-clothing-clad clientele start forming;
2) Eat a small snack before you arrive so you can last through the wait for your food/beverage;
3) Bring a zen-like sense of calm with you.

When I ate here recently, I did arrive early enough to get a table with waiting, but it took nearly 30 minutes for the breakfast to emerge from the kitchen, and the coffee I had ordered right when we sat down came after the breakfast arrived. Now I like a leisurely breakfast, but how long can it possibly take to make a coffee? The long queues that form later in the morning shouldn't be mistaken for an indication of popularity; mostly they are a result of the snail's pace of the service inside.

Okay, I'm done kvetching for the moment, and there is some praise for The Breakfast Club. They make a killer eggs Benedict — really good hollandaise and I like the little salad of greens and sprouts that comes on the side. Apart from the huevos rancheros, there's nothing that makes The Breakfast Club "American" as far as I can tell, but I am always happy to see huevos rancheros anywhere and they make a fairly good one here. Unlike most breakfast spots in London that seem to offer the same 5 options, the Breakfast Club is a refreshing change in that they have more choices and some unusual creative things too. So, if you can stomach the wait, there are some good things in store when the food finally makes an appearance.

Don’t make us angry! - I’ve got a couple problems with this place. The first is the price, basically you get the same food as any other cafe, but the price is nearly double, reckon it’s because they have nice big pieces of bread, which I passed on, but my wife said was indeed good. My second problem is they don’t do substitutions, and what’s worse they try and justify it by including a cheeky little saying about how “the cooks get angry”, eh sorry, it’s your job, and now I’m angry.

I still give it 3 stars though because for London it’s a bit more inspired than a greasy spoon, and generally executed pretty well.

Simple concept, good result! - Small and cosy space, warm colours and photos of strangers on the walls, odd tables and chairs, chilled atmosphere, good food and friendly staff. I wasnt overwhelmed but it does tick most boxes on my list so I would definatly recommend this place for both breakfast and dinner. Dont be starving when you get here tho cos most often you have to wait for a bit to get a table.

Great for dinner too! - Dropped in last night as we were passing - excellent (and huge!) burritos, perfect cocktails, a lovely chilled atmosphere and outstanding service.

Really couldn't have asked for better!

Soak up last night - Was in Saturday morning after a big night out on Friday... simple great tasting breakfast. I had the eggs benedict and the the apple-cinnamon french toast. The french toast could have been a bit more battered but otherwise delicious

Yummm! - If you are an American living in London, this is a great place to go for a big ol American style breakfast. It gets very busy on the weekends, so if you can drag yourself out of bed early to avoid the long queues - it is worth a few less winks.
