Back to School... - Leiths is a real find for all burgeoning chefs and wine lovers.
They run a wide selection of cookery courses for the enthusiastic novices to the more dedicated home chef. If you want to go the whole hog, you can even go for full professional diplomas.
In addition they also offer a range of beverage tasting courses such as wine, beer, whiskey and coffee. Course vouchers also make perfect presents for your foodie friends.
I attended the Food and Wine matching evening which was really enjoyable. You were greeted with a large glass of champagne and then sat at a table with individual selections of different food and glasses of wine. We slowly made our way round the plate, comparing and contrasting what wines worked with what food types. Our instructor was very knowledgeable and the atmosphere was very relaxed and inclusive. The wine portions were fairly large, and we all got stuck in nicely - by the time we stumbled out into the evening, we all felt like good friends who’d just been to a great fun dinner party.
