The Natural Kitchen London Reviews

It gets better and better - The best shop(s) on Marylebone High St. It's a butchers, it's a greengrocers and fruiterers, it's a cheese shop and it's also a vintners. Oh and there's also the most fantastic take away food with salads, sandwiches, pies, soups, cakes, freshly squeezed juices, coffees and lots lots more.

The butchery section and the cheeses section both surpass better known shops in the Marylebone High St area (you know who i mean!) - the quality of service and knowledgability of the staff are second to none. the butchers look and sound like butchers and the cheese counter staff know their fromages (indeed make them as well). Alongside all the saltmarsh lamb, sausages, fantastic cuts of beef there are also direct from Scotland the best haggis, black pudding and Ayrshire bacon available in London. Where else can you find such a variety of Ayrshire bacons - not even in Ayrshire i imagine never mind central London.

And then on top of that (literally as it's upstairs) there is a great informal cafe. At lunchtime during week and brunchtime at weekend there is a queue for tables and you can see why. Great light meals using the stuff you can buy downstairs. Would recommend it all. But especially the fishcakes. Have two in the cafe and then buy some more for later on the way out. I know it's what i do

So much good stuff - Their muffins are some of the best ever. Let's make that clear from the start. The Victoria Sponge cake is amazing. The sandwiches are dreamy and... Well it's all good.

Friendly, artisan market - Located in the heart of the trendy Marylebone village, this place is worth a visit. It's like bringing Borough Market to the local neighbourhood. The fresh cheeses and meats are the first thing you notice when you enter, all natural and organic. The manager of the store greeted us as we entered and the butcher asked us how we were doing; a rare treat in London.

We ended up eating in their cafe upstairs which looks out to a landscaped roof terrace, although you can't sit outside. It was light and airy with a good buzz of mum's and friends casually dining and then the occasional business meeting. Their cafe menu isn't to die for but it's consistent and fresh and good. Although I didn't have their cakes, they looked delicious; many diary or wheat free.

They do wine and cheese tastings too and even use their cafe at night for Pilates or other types of classes.

I wish they'd open in Islington!
