Acorn House is London's first environmentally sustainable restaurant, serving delicious seasonal British food in a modern interior with an open kitchen.

a taste of things to come - From the outside, Acorn House is an unassuming but smart modern restaurant, sitting smack-bang in the middle of Grays Inn Road, one of London's busiets and most polluted thoroughfairs. But the contrast on entering is striking: everything about this place is green, from the food to the very materials it's built from.
The menu is seasonal, which I personally love as it encourages variety as well as sustainability. I've never been disappointed with the quality of the food on repeated visits here, and the wine is also outstanding, especially if you want to give UK varieties a try.
Another cool innovation that will suit many diners is the option to pick your portion size. This will suit those who like variety, but feel bad about leaving food on the plate. They do take-away too, with various mouth-watering sandwiches and soups.

Eco Friendly and Yummy - This is a find in King’s Cross. It’s very similar to Ottolenghi which is one of my top places for lunch and brunch (check out my review of it http://www.tipped.co.uk/listings/55106/Ottolenghi ) yet it’s eco-friendly. Mostly everything is recyled so you feel good while you’re feeling good eating so healthy. The food is good too. Seasonal soups, salads, vegetables, meats and fresh breads are on the lunch and dinner menu; for breakfast they serve toast with various preserves, yogurt with muesli, pancakes, oatmeal, or eggs. And of course amazing pastries and desserts served all day. They also serve fresh smoothies, coffee, wine and champagne and Bellini’s. For lunch you usually choose a couple of salads or starters and a main for under £10 or a bit more if you want more, so you get to sample a variety of their wonderful dishes prepared that day.
