what a pub! - I VISITED THE SHIP INN AT THE BEGINING OF MAY 2008 AND IT WAS GREAT. GOT CHATTING TO THE LANDLADY AND SHE & HER HUSBAND, WITH HER FATHER HAD ONLY BEEN THERE A SHORT WHILE. WHAT A DIFFERENCE TO MY PREVIOUS VISIT. WE SAT IN THE GARDEN IN THE AFTERNOON AS IT WAS SO HOT.THE PUB WAS CLEAN WITH A LADIES TOUCH SHOWING. IT HAD HAD A BAD NAME BUT I HAD HEARD THAT THERE WERE NEW PEOPLE IN SO I TRIED IT AND HAD A GREAT DAY AND EVENING. MY 4 MATES AND I PLAYED DARTS AND SNOOKER UPSTAIRS, THEN HAD A MEAL (FOOD WAS EXCELLENT,VERY REASONABLY PRICED). MORE DARTS AND SNOOKER. I RECOMMEND THIS PUB TO ANYONE VISITING WINCHESTER.
