A London pub full of character.. - Having moved to the area I frequented most of the pubs within 1 month. The Elm is by far in a way one of the friendliest pubs in the area. The staff are all chatty and welcoming. The land lady Lisa conversed with me personally and the next time I indulged in a drink there, she remembered it exactly. The pub is full of colourful characters and a lively atmosphere - yes. Some people may find that intimidating but all the punters are truly lovely, genuine individuals. Everyone said hello and I am well assured it is the BEST pint of Guinness in Fulham. You would be a fool to judge this place before you actually get to know it. A fantastic atmospheric, rough and ready boozer with hilarious, really good banter.

Most certainly old Fulham - Now, there´s new Fulham and there's old Fulham and The Elm is without a doubt old Fulham.

Most recent arrivals to London will only know Fulham as a nice corner of the city in the South West, but its gentrification only really started to take place at the tail end of the seventies. Before that it was a working class borough with the odd enclave of more gentile society.

Anyone who harks back to those days should take themselves down to The Elm. Set on the North End Road on Fulham's less salubrious West Ken. side, any Simpsons fan will recognise it as a dive dive rather than a faux dive. It really is about the worst pub in South West London, full from midday on with the inhabitants of the council estates that surround it, smokers choking the pavement when they're not mournfully staring into their pints at the bar.

There is nothing attractive about this pub... the carpet probably dates back to the sixties, as do most the clientele. And if you’re asking yourself what I was doing there… I was location scouting. Oh, and we didn’t use it in the end.
