The Globe Tavern is a traditional pub which is reputed to be haunted. In addition to ghosts, they serve fish & chips, which are also available to take away, and have a restaurant upstairs serving a variety of Continental dishes. Catering for private parties of up to 75 guests is available upon request, but you are advised to phone for details. They also have fruit machines, arcade games and juke box for your entertainment.

Rude, aggressive barman - We popped in there last night for a drink just before closing time. After we had our drinks for about 2 minutes we were asked to go outside because they were clearing up as it was closing time.

Fair enough, it was a nice evening. We stood there with about 30 other people 'drinking up'.

Then this barman who clearly wasn't living the dream came blustering out saying to everyone drink up now or I'll take your drinks off you. He then proceeded to stand over an older guy who wasn't drinking his drink fast enough. When the guy had had enough intimidation and walked away he followed him and tried to grab the drink off him.

Don't drink there - they don't deserve anyone's custom. 11-09-08
