Want bad service, try here! - Service that leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I bought some seals for my elderly la Pavoni coffee machine only to find that they were not the correct ones. No problem, I thought, I shall return to get the right ones, even though I will have to travel to Swiss Cottage from South London. The manager informed me that I should have ensured that the seals were correct and their policy was they did not refund for incorrect parts, even ones that are off the shelf and not specially ordered for me. The onus was on me to have explained to the person at the time what kind of machine it was. Old was not enough, even though the sales person was adamant that if I had an "old" la Pavoni it was these seals. This I am sure is illegal practice and not in accordance with consumer rights. I had with me one of the old seals from my machine, which she took. I asked if it were possible for her to get the seal from their stock, she told me no, the technician was busy and she will not interrupt him. I said I would wait for him to be free. She intimated that I could be waiting a long time and made no attempt to find out if her technician was busy. She served another customer and called her colleague to cover the desk. She handed my old seal to him and he spoke to the technician and got me all the seals I required. He was told by his manager that I could only exchange the incorrect seals with items of similar or greater value. And as the correct seals came to much less I was forced to buy an item from their shop to make up the difference. I am as you can imagine incensed by this incredibly bad service. So much so that I feel compelled to write this review. I would have put up with indifferent service, but to enforce this policy is suicidal. If she had refunded the difference I would have left the shop happy that I could obtain new seals for a machine that is some 25 years old.I will never buy another coffee machine from this shop, ever again!
