Doggetts is named after Thomas Doggett, a well known comedian, actor, theatre manager, author and wit of the 17th century. The pub consists of four floors of completely different bars, suitable for relaxing lunchtimes or lively evenings. They serve traditional yet innovative pub food which is reasonably priced. Catering for private parties of up to 60 guests is available upon request.

AWFUL SERVICE AND FOOD - We went here with family for a standard pub style lunch - menu fine, nothing to fault there. However one of our meals didnt arrive, and everyone elses had, so we waited patiently, and waited. But no meal, so we politely prompted staff. We were enjoying a family catch up so we were quite happy to wait. Finally the meal came, it was meant to be chicken pie...however what they actually gave us was game pie!! So we sent it back, and waited and waited and waited for the correct one. When this eventually turned up the chicken was cold!!! the dish was boiling hot, but the meat cold! so of course we were not going to eat this and sent it straight back.

Not once did they appologise for any of this. Naturally we then complained and asked for our money back, the manager then told us it "wasnt their policy to do refunds!" and that we had been a very rude and arrogant table!!! We honestly couldnt have been more patient or polite, even given the dreadful state the food finally turned up in!

Finally after a rather tough time, we did get a refund. We shall of course never be returning, I have never had such bad service, not even from a scruffy little local pub, despite a chain such as this!
