rockabilly roadkill - I am not East London. I am South London. I do not wear skinny jeans, flannel shirts and vintage. That is not my thing. Therefore, the Old Axe is not my thing.

We were looking for somewhere to drink after the Will.i.am IVth shut and we ended up here because it's open late. But stepping over the threshold of this grimy ex-strip pub taken over by East End coolniks was a sobering experience for me. I no longer wanted another drink, I just wanted to go home.

If you're into rock n' roll or rock-a-billy and wear statement glasses then this place is probably heaven. But if like me you are not in the slightest bit trendy, then I'd recommend staying away.

However if you don't sober up because of your surroundings and you want a late night drink, then by all means get thee to the bar. 12-10-08
