Something tasty for every day! - I joked last week that I could get something from Sheepdrove Organic for every day of the week as there is such a good selection of high quality tasty goodies.

Let me first start with the shop: its clean design and organised layout ooze organic and really convey the essences of everything you see coming straight from Sheepdrove Organic farm (check out the posters on the wall and I once even took away a free CD-rom telling more about the farm and their methods).

Everything I've had has been of superior quality and taste: the plump chickens, the tender Filet Mignon, the juicy Sirloin steaks, the leg of lamb ... the list continus.

I am also very impressed by their sausages. Since I don't eat pork, I'm amazed at the selection of lamb and chicken sausages, seasoned with herbs and flavours like mint or with added apricot. I always avoided sausages since they are so fatty, but the friendly butcher explained how most sausages are 90-something % fat,theirs are low fat since they are mostly comprise meat vs fat. Get the full low down from the butcher himself!

The staff are very professional and helpful. Just ask them if there is something you want but can't see and they are happy to oblige. They are always keen to offer cooking suggestions if you ask.

My final favourite are the pies. The chicken pie is to die for! Its very pure (no gooey sauce or added mushrooms) but the combination of just good quality chicken and pastry is a winner. I just have this for dinner with nice side salad and you really don't need more. My mouth is watering as I write this!

Price-wise you'll always pay more for organic, but at Sheepdrove, you're not paying for the "label" but a class of food that is a massive cut above the rest and well worth every penny. Highly recommended! 16-10-07

Great organic butcher - Sheepdrove is one of the stops on my weekly grocery route. It is not a cheap option but the quality is excellent and service is fantastic. I am happy to pay that little bit more for good quality meats and support small traders. 07-10-07
