With its fascinating history, The Tower Of London is a must for those who are visiting as well as those who live in London. It was built by William The Conqueror and dates from 1708. Since then it has been a zoo, a prison and a royal residence. The admission prices to visit the Tower of London, home of the Crown Jewels and the Yeoman Warders, range from ten pounds fifty for adults to six pounds ninety for children under 15. Guided tours are available.

The Tower Of London London Reviews

A Funny, Flamboyant Tour - Though touristy in the extreme, the tower of London is sure to teach you something about the city's history as well as give you a good chuckle while taking in the massive, historic complex.

Don't miss the guided tour, which leaves every half-hour, where you'll be shown around by a fantastically flamboyant Beefeater (aka yeoman wardour, or maybe gentleman wardour, since they seemed to use the term interchangeably). Even if the tour group seems large, these guys know how to project.

Other than the tour, you should check out the crown jewels — very impressive and sparkly, of course. There's also the White Tower, the oldest of the complex’s buildings, which house an armory exhibit with lots of guns, armor and statues of horses. And there are other buildings to explore as well.

Torvill at the Tower - The Tower of London is probably one of the best known tourist attractions in the world and each winter they transform part of the moat into an ice rink. So when some friends came to stay last week we thought that we would take them skating at the Tower.
The setting was fantastic the mulled wine was flowing and carols were playing. It was a lovely way to spend an evening and got us right into the festive spirit. The only down side was that as the weather was quite warm for the time of year the ice had started to melt a bit and anyone who fell over got soaked. It was a good incentive to stay on your feet though!
For an hours skating and boot hire it costs £12 for an adult and £7.50 for a child. You should definitely book in advance and go soon as the ice rink is only open until 13th January.
