Finally!! - Having moved to Tooting I've been looking out for a good local pub for a while. A friend put me onto this place and it's great. Great building, good vibe, good beer. Just what you want for a mid week drink.

The Tardis Tramshed - For those of you familiar with Tooting Broadway, you'll know that there is quite a dirth of good drinking venues. Tooting Tram and Social (as the Tramshed is now known) is set to change this trend. Sitting anonimously off of Mitcham road, I had passed this place many times until a chance tube closure, a long bus ride and a good tip from a fellow Broadwayer led me to the Tram.

The courtyard that leads to the pub's entrance is prettily lit with fairy lights, comically offsetting the burly bouncers on friday and saturday nights. There is a tardis like feel to this pub. From the outside, you'd imagine it to be a cramped space but inside it is far from it. As the name suggests, the building has been converted from an old tram shed thus lending its 15 metre high ceilings, exposed brick work and beams to its heritage. Old photos in frames decorate the walls and mismatched leather armchairs provide seating. An unmissable feature is the huge chandelier that creates a nice juxtaposition. Though it may seem that i've described any number of 'eclectic' styled pubs that sprout up, the fact is, it really isn't. It's a genuienly great place to go for a drink. And I'm pretty picky.

As for the drinks, there seems to be a regular selection of beers on offer but the pretty extensive wine list is impressive.

Could this be the beginning of gentrified Tooting? Surely not...
