Sister of the famous Nobu restaurant in Park Lane, the highly acclaimed Nobu Berkeley operates a no-reservations policy and as such attracts large queues outside. The ground floor houses a large bar serving drinks until 2am, while upstairs there is a 200-cover restaurant featuring a sushi bar, wood-burning oven and a 12-seater hibachi table where guests can cook their food with the assistance of a chef.

Nobu Berkeley London Reviews

Great restaurant - Awesome place - they have both a bar and a restaurant for every taste. The food is amazing - the sushi is fresh and delicious. The only downside is the long queues that form outside the place. However, the wait is definitely worth it. Everyone should try it.

Nobu, Berkely - A very chic cool place, music is so loud though that is is a challenge to have hear the person next to u let alone have a chat with them. The clientele are a young attractive bunch and the food is very good and drinks are good too. However, its more of a place to be seen that to socialise! SOOOO loud

Deserves its reputation... - Went to Nobu Berkeley last night for Valentine's dinner... At first I was a bit gutted that I hadn't managed to get us a table at the main Nobu, but actually Nobu Berkeley is way cooler and of the moment, so turned out to be a good thing! The bar downstairs is hyper cool, but the staff are still v friendly. Upstairs in the restaurant we had some of the most amazing food ever. We decided to ignore the set menu and (with some help from a v friendly waiter) went a la carte - actually turned out to be way cheaper as well! We had sashimi tacos, jalapeno yellotail (you may or may not know that nobu is peruvian influenced as well), wagyu beef, crab claw tempura, shitake skewers and a sushi platter. It was all fantastic and the wagyu beef was one of the most amazing things i have ever eaten - it just melted on your mouth and i could just picture those happy cows getting their daily massages! I have no idea what my dessert was called, but that was also amazing, the combination of chocolate, ice cream and crunchy bits was just to die for! This isn't the kinda place you can afford to go to very often, but I highly recommend that any japanese food lovers go there at least once!

Not expensive for lunch - Nobu is cool. As in spretentious cool. It reminds me of Hakkasan with the long entryway with several greeters and then a huge, dark bar where your mobile phone doesn’t work (even though its ground level – or maybe it’s my service). The cocktails are expensive and exotic and use fresh everything, as you’d expect.

The dining room is upstairs via a copper coloured staircase and we’ve now gone from dark to light. Sage green coloured booths and tables throughout with a large window looking over Berkeley Street. Very open and airy and inviting. The sushi bar is open in the back with more tables.

As I was only there for lunch, the menu is significantly different than what you’d get at dinner. Think high end sushi bar/bento boxes. None of the “speciality” or “signature” Nobu dishes. But it was still good. We opted for the Regular Bento Box for £25 (that’s about the average price for lunch) which included 6 different tasters: rock shrimp tempura, tuna sashimi salad, sushi and nigiri selection, vegetables over rice with a ginger sauce and (my favourite) black cod. And of course they start you with a miso soup. It was all delicious but nothing that was OMG-That’s-Amazing! Just simple Japanese in a really cool setting.

I really want to try their dinner as I imagine it’s a much different experience from lunch. Hmmm, my birthday is coming up...

Nonetheless, I still left happy (and very full).
