The Square combines exceptional food with swift, efficient service and an excellent wine cellar in a light and spacious environment. The atmosphere is very formal, so dress smart and remember to book well in advance. Catering for private parties of up to 18 guests is available upon request. The restaurant was awarded 2 Michelin stars in January 2003.

Creme brulee heaven - For my surprise bday dinner my hubby took me to The Square - a 2 michelin star Mayfair destination. We went for the tasting menu (7 courses) with matching wines - because if you are going to go to these places you gotta go all the way! The food was definitely up to expectations, ranging from good to great. Interestingly we had dessert wines with 2 of the main courses which worked well with the game consomme course and other rich fatty flavours. My only complaint was that I found two of the dishes a little salty, but that may be because they followed a fatty/sweet combination and my taste buds noticed the contrast. But this was only minor, generally the food was excellent finished with a fabulous creme brulee which was perfectly vanilla flavoured and creamy. Mmmm. Service was good - lots of staff but you never felt overwhelmed. But, as one of the most expensive restaurants in London you do expect that. Don't forget the credit card! 03-11-07
