The roll call of legendary names who have appeared at Ronnie Scott's is almost endless, including Bill Evans, Stan Getz, Wes Montgomery, Buddy Rich and Donald Byrd. Ronnie Scott's Club London Reviews

Great Vibe! - First of all, I should point out that this was the first Jazz Club I have been to!

I chose a Wednesday night as they advertised a Jam Session which was only £5 entry after 9 and looked like a good place to start!

The jam session takes place upstairs, there is a door to the left with a tight staircase leading upstairs. Once you get inside, there is a nice warm feeling about the place, pretty relaxed, and a broad range of people from young to old!

I bought a bottle of Heineken which came to £4.30, not the most i've paid but still! But to be honest you aren't really there for cheap drinks!

At about 10:15 the place started to get busy and the performers were getting ready. The host came on at about 10:30 and warmed the crowd up. Everybody was there just to have a good time and so the atmosphere was very open.

The performers were really great, very talented and each was able to show off in their own way.

I had to leave at midnight to get the last train but would have loved to have stayed!

Will definitely be going back!!

offensive, overpriced - Ronnie Scotts - so many issues with this place.
First they advertise student rate for memberships - but they don't deliver. They gave some story about having to be a in a union of some sort.
Second, the bouncers and the management are just so so rude its not even worth trying to enjoy yourself there.
Being there on a Tuesday night, meant to be soundtrack night but i guess the place doesn't pull a crowd, so they've moved that to every other Tuesday, a visiting friend and I were the Only people in there and there was basically a cd playing.
Having paid to get in, paid, high prices, for our basic drinks, and being literally the only customers in there, I was appalled, at being bollocked at and bullied by the bouncer and then the manager (independently from each other, mind you). We left there feeling so offended, and having literally paid for that experience. It's a good thing the bar staff were so friendly.
Sounds like a shock story, but it's really no wonder the place is going down. Seems like the management are more thrilled about getting a job there, than doing their job making the customer feel thrilled about being there.
The place has a history, which is a shame that this is what it has come down to.
