The Thai Terrace London Reviews

Looks Like a Pub, Feels Like A Home - From the outside, you'd never know this place contained a Thai restaurant. It's covered in very well-kept shrubs, and has window boxes, flowers and greenery coming out of the walls. Literally. Once you get past this and make your way inside, you are greeted almost immediately and your coats are taken.

Inside, it's decorated like a home. Like, maybe, your elaborate home. Lots of pinks/reds to give it a boudoir feel and ornate trinkets and statues are scattered around. The paintings on the walls are also interesting, to say the least. Once you get past that, you can order your food.

The food here is actually very good. Be warned, you'll be eating everyone else's green/red/yellow curry with your own rice. In fact, take a few of you and order them all and mix-and-match. Order the milds and you won't get stung with very hot food. I spent an entire evening here with friends and have been back since.

The only problem I found with the place was that it was a little too much like home. If you can put up with the constant chatter from the waitresses (in a different language) over and all around you, then you'll survive this place. Otherwise, you may end up throwing something across the room. The waitresses never smile and are quite particular about getting you in and out of there. We were lucky to have gone on a Friday night (do book, it does seem to get busy) and the chatter of the patrons was louder than the chatter of the waitresses. thank goodness.

If you can tolerate this, do go there, the food is worth it and the wine list is actually a hidden gem. Go through and choose carefully; it all adds up to a better experience. You will, however, end up spending about 40-45 pounds between two of you. And more, if you get more wine (like we did!).
