The Piano Bar & Restaurant in Kensington High Street is gaining an ever wider reputation with pianist Bazz Norton and his grand piano entertaining the customers with an eclectic mix of tunes, including 'special requests'. A full menu is also available and the bar gets very popular at weekends.

The Piano Bar & Restaurant London Reviews

Wallet-Hitting, Sing-a-Long-Tastic! - Erm, dig into your pockets for this place because you're in for a treat.

A live pianist and a beautiful grand piano are what make this place so special. It's perfectly lit for the evening and you have to book a table if you want to sit anywhere but the bar. If you just show up here any night of the week past 7pm, you'll be standing for sure.

The music doesn't kick off 'til late on some days (depends on who they can hire, I suppose), but the musicians are usually very good. They'll play classics, popular stuff and stuff you just so happen to get drunk and shout out. They really are very good like that. You can even go and sit on the stools by the piano - although, I wouldn't recommend shouting at the pianist in a drunken fashion from this distance.

It gets very busy Thursday to Sunday and there's a reason for it! Everyone likes to sing and you can do it here without the need to feel awkward and self-conscious. I do like to get drunk and sing (badly), so I love this place (once every six months - mostly because I sometimes like to look in my wallet and see that I have some cash in there, albeit a five pound note).

The food is VERY over-priced, but it tastes VERY, VERY good. This bar shouldn't be serving such good food, it seems wrong, but it does. The bar snacks are a steal (don't eat here properly unless you want to feel like you've been r*ped, which I have done on one occasion), so get like three of these instead, between you, as they will fill you up nicely.

Cocktails are like 9 pounds and bottles of wine are in the stupidly priced too (25 and up). I have been here with only one other person, on several occasions, and we tend to just go for the cheapest champagne (40 pounds) in order to make the best of the ratio of what-you're-paying-for-drinks and how-bladdered-you-get. Two bottles and several badly sung tunes in and you're on your way to an early night of feeling good and your bed by midnight, in time for work the next day. You really won't stay here all night, unless you have the money to.

EVERYTHING YOU DO HERE IS VERY EXPENSIVE. BE WARNED. In fact, call me stubborn, but it lost a holey, green rating of spherical goodness because of the ridiculous prices here.

See what you did Piano? Tut tut.

P.S. This place is tiny. With a capital Teeny. Get there before 7pm (Thursday to Sunday), else don't bother. It isn't that enjoyable standing - nor is it when you're constantly moving out of the way of the idiots who don't bother looking to see how big the place is before they barge past everyone, walk straight up towards the piano, decide it's too small, and then barge past everyone before they walk straight out.

*Shakes tiny fist*
