The Mall Tavern serves a variety of drinks and traditional British cuisine. On the last Saturday of every month they have poetry readings and a quiz night on Tuesdays. Private parties of up to 50 people can be catered for. They also have a beer garden for use in warmer months.

Good Gastropub - The Mall Tavern is a slightly swank gastropub near the Notting Hill tube station. It fits snugly into a corner in a part of the neighborhood that would be very mellow if not for the Routemaster's whipping around the corner on their way towards returning east, still it's actually nice and quiet inside.

Inside, the place is well designed, with a smaller front room for drinks and casual food. In the back is a somewhat larger (but not much) dining room with maybe 12-15 tables. When I went we were seated in a kind of busy area, so we had a lot of waiters walking back and forth with plates of food, as well as hosts bringing groups of people to their tables. A bit cramped I suppose, but it wasn't all that bad. One thing that bummed me out was that this 'pub' only had one beer on tap, but clearly this place isn't a straightforward boozer..

The food, meanwhile, is high quality. Don't expect the usual sausage and mash here, you're more likely to get swish dishes with a quail's egg cracked on top of it or something along those lines. The menu varies regularly and is always based on seasonable ingredients so things tend to be pretty fresh. Prices are steeper than you'd want to pay in your average pub, but the quality of the food makes up for that. A good place for a date. 10-04-08

Great Pub Food - Am very lucky as live very close to this great pub,
really friendly staff, winderful food and bar food and it even has a beer garden which isa great place to sit ut in and have dinner in the summer! 02-07-07
