Tuscan delight - Lucca opened it's doors to the good people of Nottingham in November 2008. I didn't here about it's arrival until a friend recommended it in Feb 2009. That's a great shame as it is a superb restaurant and I would certainly have been there before now had I known about it.
Four of us ate there last week and we were all impressed by the cuisine, atmosphere and finally the bill! (3 courses, bread & olives while we perused the menu, 2 bottles of wine & coffee to compliment the meal = £132) They seem to have got the service at just the right level, attentive but not intrusive. The menu has some very interesting dishes on it. Definitely worth a look.
It was such a shame to see the place only half full on a Friday night. I do hope that they broadcast their presence a little more as the position they are in is not readily apparent in the city centre. It would be a great shame to see them disappear due to lack of clientele.
We shall be returning here, I think, on a regular basis.
