Dim Sum and then some - One of my best food experiences ever were the night markets of Taipei so finding a Taiwanese dim sum place was fantastic.
I was not disappointed! 7 of us ate our fill at lunch (no booze consumed) and it came to 60 odd quid.
And it was so worth it. We'll definitely be back.

Delicious Dim Sum - Everybody has to be a fan of dim sum. The textures, flavours and of course the eating.
The staff were accommodating enough, and prompt at taking the order. Unfortunately my food arrived before my drink, and later it took much head nodding, flapping and general effort on my part to get the bill.
Though, the food more than made up for the service. I'll agree with the siu long bao, I'd also recommend the oysters with egg and the mini pork belly kebab was cute.

Great Siu Long Bao - I came to Leong's Legends during Chinese New Year. The waiting staff are... rather eccentric, let's say. We ordered dim sum and when we wanted to order more, they were extremely begrudging with letting us have a menu, and wouldn't let us hang on to it for more than 5 minutes. I persevered though.
The siu long bao (dumplings with soup encased in the skin) are notoriously hard to do right, and I'm pleased to say Leong's did. The siu mai were very dense, but delicious; cheung fun disappointed.
However, the 'taiwan pork kebab' was absolutely delicious; a slice of tender pork belly with some pickle and crushed peanuts, in a doughy bun. Gorgeous.
Also, try the off-piste dishes, like Hot & Numbing Beef & Tripe Slices, or Tofu with Century Egg. Be brave.

How I was fooled.... - I've been a regular at Ping Pong since they opened their first restaurant. I love dim sum - steamed parcels of goodness, fast food that's healthy. However on our last visit my hubby declared Ping Pong No More. We found the quality deteriorating at each visit, dumpling dough falling to pieces as you attempt to pick it up and tastes seemed to get blander.
So last weekend when I was craving a dim sum lunch, the hubby mentioned a recommendation from a Chinese colleague - well you know its got to be good when an 'expert' recommends it.
Leong's does not disappoint. Dumplings were bursting with flavour - recommend the crab dumplings on the specials list. Our favourite char sui buns were scrumptious, and the rest of the dumplings equally satisfied. Decent wines by the glass were a bonus. And it even beats Ping Pong on price. Nicely positioned opposite De Hems you can start or end your meal with a Dutch beer.
We loved it and from now on Leongs will be my ONLY dim sum choice when I am in the West End. Just don't get there too late - we avoided the rush, but folks arriving after 1.30pm had to wait outside in the cold!!
