Ping Pong's first restaurant opened in London's Soho, architect David Marquardt and brand designer Niclas Sellebršten having developed an interior architecture and style that is contemporary yet respectful of the traditions of dim sum cuisine. Combining a sense of relaxed order with warmth and comfort, the restaurant possesses its own distinctive atmosphere, yet at the same time defines the ideal of the modern dim sum restaurant everywhere. There are now several branches across London.

Ping Pong Dim Sum London Reviews

Ping Pong at Saint Katherine's Dock - Go and give this place a try! We were in a hurry and wanted a fast - lunch the other day, but not fast-food. At this Ping Pong, we were quickly seated, and served about 10 mins after our order was taken. The food was really good, and we felt as though we had had a proper meal instead of quick fix from a fast - food restaurant. I would have stayed longer if I'd had time as the cosy warm atmosphere provided a welcome refuge from the cold outside! A very nice experience all-in-all.

Dumb Name, Decent Grub - I've been eating more dim sum lately, so I'm starting to know what I like more and I'm getting decent idea of the variation in quality that you can run into.

Ping Pong fills a nice niche in the dim sum world: the food is fresh, the menu items are unchallenging to the uninitiated (no chicken feet), and you won't run into chunks of gristle in the pork filling. On the down side, Ping Pong is a seriously dumb name and the ambiance is the corporate version of stylish common to many of the London chain restaurants (think Wagamama meets Strada).

The food at Ping Pong is consistently good, not amazing, but good. The chive dumplings, despite being an oddly unnatural shade of green, are delicious and I could eat a whole meal of those. I would never think of Ping Pong as a destination restaurant, but it is a good option in the St. Katherine's Dock area. Plus you can sit outside on the dock sipping tea and pretending you own one of the millionaires' yachts in the marina.
