It Takes More Than Good Beans - Just like the amazing coffee heaven that is Taylor Street Barristas, just a few blocks away, Bean and Gone uses beans from Union Coffee Roasters. However, there is clearly more to making coffee than buying good beans, because the coffee at Bean an Gone doesn't hold a candle to Taylor Street's coffee. Maybe it's the milk, maybe it's the machine, maybe it's the barrista, I couldn't say. I can say that the faux-vanilla-scented sweetened cocoa powder they put on top of my cappuccino would have ruined just about anything, but the coffee below wasn't marvelous either.

I would still buy coffee here (minus the cocoa) if there weren't any other good options near by, but with Market Coffee House and Taylor Street Barristas in the neighborhood, there's no contest. 17-09-08
