And I thought I'd had the best... - I thought Dehesa was my new favourite tapas restaurant (see my review on Tipped) and it’s certainly really good but I think I’ve found a new winner with Tierra Brindisa .My husband and I met there on Xmas Eve prior to our last minute shopping and it was a wonderful lunch. The place is small and cosy with only about 7 tables, which makes it really quaint amid the drones of shoppers in SOHO. The waitstaff were welcoming and attentive but not pushy and they brought the food out depending on our pace which was really nice. We of course over-ordered as you do with small plates but everything was delicious! My husband started with a glass of Sherry, and then the food started coming so we also ordered a glass each of Priorat (our favourite Spanish wine region producing amazing red wines and not well heard of). For our dishes we had roasted Jerusalem artichokes; lentil stew with goats cheese curd (amazing!); ibérico pork fillet with piquillo pepper (the best pork I’ve had); beetroot with blue cheese walnuts; mushroom mixture with manchego cheese on grilled bread; and grilled seabass with roasted fennel. I left utterly full but it was all worth it. It’s one of those places you don’t want leave a single bite b/c it’s so wonderful.
It came to £60 for the 2 of us which I consider pretty good for the how full I was.

Tapas Heaven - Hooray, Brindisa is opening in Central London!! They are coming to Soho, opening tomorrow. This one is more restauranty than their famous Borough Market tapas bar, but they've kept their open kitchen and you can have a quick bite up at the bar or a more leisurely meal at a table. The food is delicious, with the traditional item like Padron Peppers, Tortilla and Chorizo, as well as seasonal dishes like beetroot, blue cheese and walnut, scallops to die for, all created by their head chef Jose Pizarro from Borough. Top tip, here you can book ahead - well worth it if the queues at Borough are anything to go by!
