Battersea Power Station is a defunct coal-fired power station in Battersea, London, that was the first in a series of large coal-fired electrical generating facilities set up in England.The first part of the structure was built in 1939, and the station ceased electricity generation in 1983.

Just to take a good photo - Probably, once again my tip won't be useful to anybody but there's a place in London that reminds me of a crematory in Auschwitz. I know, a stupid association but still a spectacular architectural triumph and an interesting place to visit.
I passed Battersea Power Station so many times but didn't even think to get inside. It turned out that it was possible to discover Power Station's secrets every Saturday in August and presumably you'll have the chance to do it in September as well. Anyway, don't lose your precious time.
Our close-up viewing started with filling different questionnaires (which was quite annoying- lots of people, no pens) and confusion where to go....We were 100% percent sure that it would be possible to explore chimneys, engine rooms and the darkest places of BPS. We were expecting to be surrounded by bats, dust and generators...Full of excitement and strange emotions, we were waiting in the queue about half an hour but what a disappointment! We just had a possibility to have a look at Boiler House and Turbin Hall which was so far off (it's logical on the other hand) and looked so predictible...
You could see all those things with a spyglass easily but if you like photography, BPS is still an amazing space to take some industrial photos. The viewing was totally for free and there was a bottle of water for free:)
