Virgin Holidays cruise company based just outside of swindon in wootton bassett. It's call centre and a website although you can buy from their offices directly. They've over 140 ships, 15 cruise lines and several dozen destinations to choose from. They also offer exclusive cruise and stay packages with vigin atlantic flights.

Avoid Virgin Cruises!!!! - I am aware that I am not the first to review this dreadful company but there appallingly low standards need to be mentioned again. I am going on a cruise next week (I hope) and STILL don't have my tickets. I was faithfully promised that they would be here by now and that etickets would also be sent. Neither have arrived.

I sent yet another email to the company who promise to get back to you in 5 WORKING days! (i.e. a week). Not only do they not ever do this but in my case.... it will be too late.

The alternative is to try and telephone these clowns between 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday... They charge a premim,um rate for their so-called aftersales service (reason enough not to book with them) and then they take up to 20 minutes to answer before failing to respond adequately to your concerns.

If you complain their staff are trained to feed you a load of corporate BS about how their business model provides for increased customer flexibility!

Be advised DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS I DID... go to a reputable cruise booking company. I recommend Cruise118.com... they provide outstanding service in a manner that Virgin can only dream of!

Putting the story right - Just read that last review and had to write. I have just come back from a 2 week cruise on the Ventura and I was dismayed to read what the person before wrote. First of all , my lady who helped me went out of her way to send a FULL e mail of all about the ship and where i would go , she got me a better cabin than the one i wanted as mine would have been noisy and she was very helpful. I paid a good price and NO hidden extras, reviews should be given to help not a stand point to cuss. I think my cruise was excellent and the staff at P an O superb, the guest speakers brilliant and the white rooms food sublime. I WILL book again with Virgin Holiday Cruises because I found their attitude very refreshing as my lady was superb , I have never had a sales person take time out to send me details, usually its sell sell and more sell so I just wanted to have my two penny worth lol. P and O I WILL DEFINATLY COME AGAIN.

Don't book with them! - Very pushy salespeople who don't give you all the information, cruises overpriced compared to other cruise holiday operators, very poor after-sales and customer service when you complain. Expect to run up a massive phone bill when trying to get any issues resolved. They also take a larger deposit than other companies (more than twice the deposit required compared to other companies). If you wish to cancel or you find the exact same cruise holiday cheaper elsewhere, then you are stuck with them as you will lose your entire deposit and they will not price match or refund the difference.

If you decide to go ahead, then read all the small print on their website and don't let them pressurize you into booking straightaway, as we found to our cost - have paid £320 more with Virgin then we would have if we had booked with www.cruise.co.uk.
