Moral pleasures in the park - I've always concentrated on (somehow) destructive elements of London's reality. I'm trying to change my lifestyle so please expect some changes in my reviews as well. No more beer, music and brainwashing from galleries. Stop! From today on, just nature.
Yesterday I visited Victoria Park. The reason was obvious, I wanted to see the Love Music Hate Racism Carnival. The event was really peaceful, music (especially from Dj's tent) was inspiring and I wasn't the oldest- that was soooooo pleasant! Anyway, the main star during that day was 'Vicky' Park itself. It's quite funky place as it links the most 'trendy' (?!) London districts (Hackney, Bethnal Green and less trendy, Bow) so what goes with it, you can meet many freaks right there. The park is bounded by the Regent's Canal which creates a great walking path. You can go for a nice walk from Mile End to Hackney and visit the park to improve your fishing skills as there are 2 impressive lakes there.
Conversely to its name, Victoria Park is very up to date (I don't know if it's the right expression, so please forgive me....) and organizes many open-air music events, like the one yesterday. If you love music, cricket, cycling or jogging; if you want to play with your dog or child or if you want to have..... a beer outside, Vicky's Park is the perfect place to enjoy all those dirtiest pleasures.
