The Bag O' Nails is a one bar pub that offers food and a variety of ales and beers from independent breweries around the country. The serve food between midday and 2pm from Monday to Friday. They host port and stilton nights every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Camra voted it the best in the Bristol and District for the year 2000.

Cracking Beer , Pies and Banter - This is simply a great pub , not only because it is within a 3 min walk from my place, but for the fact that it is a true British pub.

Now people say describe a TRUE British Pub and I would say owned and ran by a landlord and his wife, complete with Dog (scoobie) which this is, complete with a selection of beers that would make a brewer go weak at the knees, and again this does.

The Nails has something like 9 Real ales on pump at anyone time and this is constantly changing to accomodate new and favourites all recommended by the locals so your taste buds are always in for a sensory challenge. They do everything from Brew Dog to Bristol Stout ranging from 10% to the lowely 3% all very tasty indeed I have to say.
If you wanted a challenge go to the back wall which they have decorated with beer Mats from all the brews they have had in over the years you wont be dissapointed.
They also do a couple of lagers lager and the tasty Thatchers Gold Cider but as the pub is a a member of CAMRA, (Campaign for Real Ale),Beer takes front and centre ..All and all this is a pub that is well worth of a visit if you are in the city of Bristol and once you have had a belly full and enjoyed the delights of the owners you can cross the road and go for a walk along the river...all rather enjoyable on a hot summers night....10 out of 10 please....
