The SS Great Britain was the most powerful ship built in its day. Launched in 1843, she was the biggest and the first propellor-driven iron ship to cross the Atlantic. Built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, SS Great Britain sailed all over the world covering a distance of over a million miles and was still being used 100 years after her maiden voyage.
