Never forget The Elephant! - I was in The Elephant on Saturday night and was chatting to the new owners who seemed really friendly and keen to make sure the reopening of the bar was a success. I thought the refurb has been done tastefuly and in keeping with the building and its features. The shortcomings of Slug and Lettuce and Revolution were highlighted by a bar which actually has some character, where you can hold a conversation, listen to decent music and have a decent drink. It was no more pricey than most places in town but at least they keep the riffraff out. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the bar and atmosphere develops as it becomes more established, we're heading back on Sunday to try the roasts. A welcome new addition to the area in my opinion.
