Fitting a tow bar today and needed to tap out the chassis rail holes in my car, to accept the fixing bolts. I did not have the right size screw tap of M10 1.25 and made the mistake of going to Stanwells who promptly ripped me off £13.50 for one.
£3.50 would have been reasonable, and it would seem that he made a tenner for himself. I really needed it urgently, but I would advise anyone that is not a regular customer to avoid the shop like the plague! No doubt I could have bought a complete Metric common size screw tap set else where for what he ripped me off for one.
