papaya tree-now my local favourite! - went to the papaya tree in kensington london afew days ago and had a great meal. i goto thailand quite freqently and the cooking here matches what is served at the local restaurants there.
i love the minimalistic design of the interior and the cool music in the background.
it was jam packed the night i went so it cant be just me who thinks this place was brilliant!
the staff were so sweet that u just wanna take them home...hehe
i think the prices were fine for this area of london. it is in the heart of kensington after all! 22-02-09

Expensive - I came here wanting a quick bite to eat before going to the cinema. I wish I'd had a look at the menu first before going in.

When we arrived without a booking on a Saturday night, they sat us down at the pokiest table. We ordered starters - king prawns wrapped in filo pastry with sweet chilli sauce. These came in at a whooping £6.95, and there were only 4. Not only that, they were slightly soggy, the oil to deep fry them wasn't hot enough. This theme continued - the rice to accompany my green curry was lukewarm. Green chicken curry was average, it packed a nice heat, but no lime leaves. Service was slow. 1 starter to share, 2 mains with rice, 2 beers came to £45. A costly mistake. 02-02-09
