Classic French with roosters - I went her for a business lunch recently. We were at a function at the adjoining Sofitel hotel. We had a specially arranged menu with choice of three options for each course. Although we were running behind schedule, they didn't appear perturbed! It wasn't full but they must have been busy because the service wasn't immediate. However, the waiters were charming and the food was very good. We had to be finished in an hour and a half, and we were. OMG, the French Onion soup is to die for! I will be going again just to have that once more! Then had a wonderful monkfish dish and finished off with an exotic fruit salad. The decor is quite unique and centres on roosters - in large paintings, ceramics, carvings etc. around the room. Apparently because the rooster is the coat of arms of the building's former owners, Cox & Kings, and the symbol of France. 08-02-10
