The Corner Store calls itself a 'kitchen and bar'. It's a bit like a pub but it serves freshly prepared homemade food. There is a basement bar that has independent DJs playing on Friday nights.

OK for a pint - I ducked into the Corner Store with some friends mostly because we were looking for a place to grab a quick drink, and it was closest to us. The interior was welcoming, with high ceilings and lots of wooden fixtures surrounding us in a big room. We snagged a table along the wall, which had a kind of neat feature of theater seats.
We ordered a round of drinks, but there wasn't exactly an impressive selection of beer or wine to choose from. No matter, we weren't really feeling picky. We also ordered a plate of nachos, although my heart wasn't in the groups decision. As I have repeatedly found here in London, the nachos in pubs and restaurants in general are just awful, and these were no exception.
Downstairs they have the loos as well as a theater where there are regular comedy nights. I didn't draw a comparison between the two features of the lower-ground floor, and I haven't seen any of the comedy nights, but I don't expect I am likely to rush back either.
Basically the Corner Store was fine for our main goal of having a drink. When it came to things beyond that, it began to be more disappointing. But if you have no greater aspirations, it should suit you fine.
