Not just another one - At first D place looks like just another boutique hotel in one of london's richest areas. When I went in i was greeted by a lovely bar tender whom showed me a table at the back of the restaurant. The walls covered with white paint and a flowered metallic structure that seemed to sparkle. The odd paintings here and there were splattered paint circles. The menu came and I ordered a gin and tonic on the rocks, when the waiter came back i ordered the butternut squash ravioli with a olive, tomato and red wine sauce. The meal came about a half hour later in the mean time I had ordered the smoked salmon and capers starter; the food was served in a thin lipped, deep based bowl with butternut squash shavings around the edges. The cutlery, shaped like fat icicles. I picked up my fork first then my knife, slowly cutting into the bloated piece of ravioli that was slowly releasing steam. I jabbed my fork into the slice of ravioli and brought it up to my mouth. Pushed it into my mouth and began to chew. The butternut squash came oozing out onto my taste buds. The sauce that covered the ravioli was like a explosion in the mouth; full of flavour and surprises. After I had finished the main course i had to go for desert. And i had to pick the chocolate fondant. It was served on a sugar coated plate with diced strawberry's around the edges. I took a big bite of the chocolate fondant which was very nice and seemed to tingle my taste buds but i have to say that the ravioli was a lot better. Overall the dinner was a delight especially the main course.
