PizzaExpress has expanded enormously over the years and now has a staggering number of outlets. The simple menu and kitchen concept has retained its freshly made ideal and you can still watch your pizza being prepared for you. This branch has outside seating on the pavement and can cater for private parties upon request.

Offers? - Pretty stander pizza but the waiter didn't know the new Christmas menu. We ordered the Polpette Bolognese: Spiced bolognese sauce, beef meatballs, fiery roquito peppers and mazzarella, finished with rocket and grana padano, and served as a bigger, thinner and crispier Romana pizza.

Note the Romana in the description. It came as the smaller, tubbier Classic. We asked about this and the waiter went off to discuss with the pizza maker and then came back and told us that it is Classic by default but didn't give us the menu back.

We then had dessert and coffee. On the table was a card with a Christmas offer of free coffee with dessert. The waiter again said that it was only valid at Christmas and with the set menu and charged us for it. We were getting a little annoyed now and so read the fine print. "Not valid with a set menu." We called the waiter over again and pointed this out. He again went to check and after about 10 minutes came back with a new bill with the coffee removed but with no apology. It was £2, no big deal but why advertise an offer on the tables if you don't want your customers to take them up? We left feeling annoyed and ripped off.
