good for kids - this place is excellent in an up-and-coming area.i dont know what the previous reviewers child did in the shop.with my child the staff were very helpful! it must be very difficult for them when people use the shop as a creche for the local Tescos and the children are not supervised by their adult.
they have an excellent range of toys & games as well as all the usual books ( and some unusual ones)
i have just noticed that the previous reviewers child had problems in another shop- is this a coincidence?

BAD for kids - This is a childrens' bookshop (HA!!). Yet, when a child comes in and touches any book, they say "oooooh noooooo DAAAAhrling! Don't touch the books!" Then they promptly direct them to a tattered collection of books in a basket in the corner. Like a kids is supposed to be excited by that.

I take my kids to kids bookshops to see what draws their interest....and then I know what to buy. If my kids can't even touch the books, how am I supposed to be drawn to the right thing? And I am supposed to feel good about patronizing a small business owner who makes my kids feel like they did something bad by getting excited about what they see on the shelf?

And seriously, why on earth are these guys in the business of kids if they can't handle them?

I would say avoid going in cause it looks cute. It isn't worth the way they will make your kid feel.
