cheap & friendly! - we went into this pink doll house of an Indian eatery and to my pleasant surprise, their 3.5 - 4 quid lunch menu was authentic and tasty.
You order at the door, doesn't get simpler than that (chicken or veg?). Pay, sit, they bring you your food in an authentic style tv dinner platter, pockets filled with surprises - being the vegetarian i had a few types of veggie curries, rice, chapati, and a saffron desert, did i mention it was 3.5pounds!
For a student- or anyone else not looking for anything fancy - twas great.
The pink walls and personal greeting made all the coldness of the February freeze melt away!

Cheap fast eats - Rasa Express is located behind the Rasa Seafood restaurant (off of Charlotte street). They have daily lunch boxes for takeaway or eat in at ridiculously low prices. Don't expect too much variety - there are usually three options consisting of chicken curry, vegetarian curry or chicken biryani. Each comes with vegetable side dishes, rice and a little dessert container. Prices average about £3.
The food is decent and fast - great to take back to your desk to stink up the office and make everyone angry.
