Reinvented local pub - In what has been the most amazing and rapid turnaround of decor, clientelle and atmosphere the Jolly Sailor has (literally) come out of the dark ages.

Two new landlords (Colin Stanway & Glyn Naden) have taken the place on and turned it around, walking through the door you are greeted by a very pleasant and warm interior, on cold days a roaring fire adds to this.

Traditional rhythm & Blues drifts from the bar adding to the very musical roots of the newly reborn Jolly, from there you have a good selection of real ales - always very well kept - Glyn has worked at Storm Brewery for many years and is festidious about his beer. The bar is well stocked with the usuals with a small but good selection of spirits.

So whats it like when it gets busy? Well not only has the pub had a real clean and polish but so have the customers, Glyn and Colin have brought a lot of new people to the Jolly Sailor and at the same time have removed the rotten core from the days gone by.

The Jolly is also establishing itself as a good music venue, Fridays and Sturdays will often have live music, sometimes in the form of an acoustic duo, or a blues band or a soul disco.

To finish of the week, every Sunday the Jolly Sailor plays hosts to Macclesfield's most popuklar jam night, organised by local guitarist Dom Blair, it is always a good night with a very varied mixture of performers.
