Good on you guys!! - What a wonderful vibrant place with great staff,friendly,efficient and a pleasure to call one of my favourites!! My wife and I frequent this business on a regular basis and are always treated with respect and impecable manners by an eclectic mix of staff. In particular two guys stand out as diamonds amongst many jewels,simon and jas!! So it was with great suprise and shock when we were in their just the other day and had to sit and listen to a jumped up londoner giving abuse to simon in such a disrespectful manner,throughout this torrent of abuse ha handled himself proffesionally in the face of what could only be described as potty language. It takes a man to stand up to a customer who clearly saw themself as being above what he obviously presumed to be someone who was just a "waiter" GOOD ON YOU GUYS! We'll back back as always just hope we don't see that sort again!! What is it about this nation that we only believe in letting people know when somethings bad,how about singing their praises when it's good!!

horrific experience 8th june 2010 - if you like being insulted this is the place for you!
on arrival we were greeted warmly by a young man, we sat down ,and looked over the menu and decided what we wanted .we waited to be approached,and waited and waited,two guys were cleaning tables,we decided to go elsewhere. as we stood up we were asked have you decided what you wanted .
we replied you are obviously too busy cleaning tables so we have decided to go elsewhere.
his response was please yourself and then continued to abuse us until we left the premises.
one of us returned later to ask for head office address or phone number.
this was responded to by the same person
saying he was the owner of the of the establishment and was asked to leave saying he didnt need our type of people in his cafe.
our type i assume being two 50 to 60 year old gentleman enjoying there time together as we have been for 25 years.
never before been so horrified.

Food, ambiance, service fine - In November I had lunch with friends at Mistress Quickly. I was put off by the arch name, but the food was good, the prices reasonable, and the service very friendly and helpful. The decor is quite attractive, and I had no trouble paying. My only complaint was that they didn't accept lunch reservations and I had feared a queue. We're lunching there again this week. Perhaps they're taking reservations this time.

I don't have time for this! - Having eaten an enjoyable steak and ale pie on a Sunday afternoon at Mistress Quickly's my two friends and I were unsure how to pay; the waitress although friendly was obviously new and they were in the middle of a sunday lunch sitting. So we went to the bar along with our receipt. Having waiting, and being ignored by a woman making coffee's for a good few minutes, I asked if we were in the correct place to pay, she replied, abruptly, "yes", and ignored us for a few more minutes. Eventually she gave us a bill, i asked politely if she could tell us the prices of each meal and she replied, "I haven't got time for this!" and served someone else. I was flabberghasted and told her that i hadn't got time to pay, but i still would! We paid and left and shall not be returning.

I would have requested to speak to the manager, but we were running out of time on the car park, and frankly, i didn't have time!
