More Than a Caff - Modern Times Cafe looks like a classic English cafe (eggs, chips and tea and all that), and you can get a lot of the basic cafe foods here. Beyond this, they also serve some interesting Turkish-inspired paninis at lunch (lots of tasty sandwiches that include hummous - always a good addition), and several freshly made hot dishes.

Between Modern Times and the Atlantic Sandwich bar a few doors up, this block has good lunch options. But for a nice comfy cafe experience with no pretense and friendly owners, Modern Times is the clear choice. I'm not clear why it's called Modern Times, because honestly it looks like kind of a throw-back, but I do like the name for some reason. 23-08-08
