lunch and darts - Nobody plays darts in pubs anymore, they don't here either, but you can...and that's what is important! I've always quite liked The Red Lion as a pub, I'm a big Sam Smiths fan in general, but today I ventured there for a spot of lunch with my little brother to try out their re-vamped menu.
Mainly it's pies, with mash or chips and beans or veg. Anywhere that gives me that kind of choice is always going to be a winner, I'm forever saying to people "instead of the chips can I get mash, and instead of the veg can I get beans." They must have seen me coming. The pies themselves are the frozen sort that come in packets of six I would imagine, but tasty enough and for £6 it's not a bargain, but its not going to break the bank either.
The staff here are always friendly and on a Tuesday lunchtime it's nice and quiet so you can argue loudly with your family about the relative merits of the new Batman movie without disturbing anyone. 29-07-08
