Gill Wing are a small group of shops and a restaurant in Islington. This shop sells a wide range of kitchenware, cookery books and other kitchen equipment. They also sell a range of second hand china. A delivery service for larger items is available upon request.

Quirky kitchen shop, lousy service - Gill Wing has a host of shops on Upper Street in Islington, and all are quite good. I particularly love to cook so find myself wandering into cooking shops whenever I pass one. This Gill Wing shop is a miss-mash of various kitchen/cookery items crammed into a small space. You can’t have too many patrons in the store at once as there’s no room for shoppers AND the merchandise. It’s highly unorganized so if something is out of stock, it probably isn’t but just buried somewhere.

They sell loads of things from kitchen knives, cutlery, Le Creuset products, baking tins/dishes, cookie cutters, kitchen towels, glasses, utensil holders, utensils, kettles, etc. I don’t think they carry anything electronic though.

The staff are horrible though. They aren’t friendly or helpful and don’t make your experience fun which is what cooking is all about. If another cooking shop opened in my ‘hood, I’d never go back to this place, but they’re the monopoly in the area for now so I keep going back for a beating.
