The Jerusalem Tavern London Reviews

After Work Crowded - The Jerusalem Tavern is nestled just down a narrow lane from Clerkenwell Road near Farringdon, and it does a brisk trade in pints for the after-work crowd. It focuses on St James bottles as well as a row of specialty kegs and the more straightforward Bitburger on draft, although there was a group of guys at the bar slamming down shots of sambuca (yuck), and there are other spirits on offer as well.

The pub itself is rather small, with only a handful of seats available for patrons. The majority of drinkers, then, spill out onto the sidewalk in front of the pub and across the street. They are rather intensive in their efforts to prevent punters from spreading in front of the buildings on either side of the pub, I spose there are somewhat edgy relationships with them? At any rate it can be a bit annoying to be pushed around by people from the pub considering how little space they have to offer you.

As I mentioned, it's definitely an after-work kind of place, or at least certainly was upon my visit. A few too many neckties for my liking, but of course you can't really pick who is going to share the pub with you, can you? Also I knocked off points for the plastic pint glasses. Still, the place does have some charm, and I could imagine going back again.

Good Pub, but get there early! - I went to The Jerusalem about 8pm one night, and it was SOOOOOO packed, you couldn't get from the bar, back to your table without spilling your beer. On the other hand, the bartender was fast and friendly, and the Tavern itself is very cool. There are lots of little corners to set your pint and hang out with your friends, if you don't mind standing elbow to elbow with them.
